If you're building IoT solutions on top of Ubidots and reselling them to customers, the Billing module gives you a native way to package and monetize those apps ā without stitching together external tools or managing payments manually. You define the pricing structure that fits your business: flat-rate plans, usage-based plans that charge based on actual consumption (devices connected, data points sent, SMS alerts triggered, and more), or a combination of both. Each plan can be scoped to specific applications and offered in the currency of your choice, making it straightforward to serve different customer segments with the right offer for each.
The experience is just as smooth for your end users. Once you've set up your plans, customers can browse the options available to them, subscribe directly from their account settings, and pay through a Stripe-hosted checkout ā all without any manual intervention on your end. From that point, billing runs automatically each cycle and invoices are sent to customers directly, while you keep full visibility into payments and transactions from your Ubidots dashboard. It's the infrastructure to turn your IoT solution into a scalable, recurring-revenue business, built right into the platform.
